Pre-Release Version Of Oracle Data Miner Now On OTN
Well there you go. Only the other day I was talking about there not being an application front-end for Oracle Data Mining, and now Oracle go and release one. Oracle Data Miner is a new end-user application for Oracle Data Mining 10g that has just been made available on OTN in a pre-release version.
"Oracle Data Miner is a graphical user interface for Oracle Data Mining (Release 10.0 and above) that helps data analysts mine their Oracle data to find valuable hidden information, patterns, and new insights. Data analysts can mine data with Oracle Data Miner's easy-to-use wizards that guide them through the data preparation, data mining, model evaluation, and model scoring process. As the data analyst transforms the data, builds models, and interprets results, Oracle Data Miner can automatically generate code needed to transform the data mining steps into an integrated data mining/BI application. ODM 10.1.0.1 Code Generator JDeveloper extension generates Java code from Oracle Data Miner models and results.
With Oracle Data Miner and Oracle Data Mining, the data never leaves the database: all data movement is eliminated. In addition, Oracle Data Miner and Oracle Data Mining provide the security of the Oracle database.
Oracle Data Miner requires Oracle Data Mining (ODM) 10.1.0.1."
It's a 37MB download and runs under Windows and Linux. You need the 10g version of Oracle Data Mining and, like JDeveloper, it just unzips into it's own directory on your local PC. Here's some screenshots:

There's an install document available, which goes through how to install the product and has some interesting background on the product:
