Seminar in Copenhagen, and A Visit to Miracle Headquarters

I was in Denmark today for the latest iteration of my BI Seminar. The Oracle office is in Ballerup and I'm staying at the Hotel D'Angleterre in Copenhagen; I'd assumed that the two locations weren't far apart but it actually took me about 50 minutes to get to the venue - meaning that I arrived at just gone 9am, and had to set up with all of the audience already seated and waiting for me to start. Thankfully I've run the seminar a few times now and it didn't take too long to get set up. The seminar itself went pretty well, the only hickup was the Data Profiling demo that locked up due to the virtual machine running out of memory - when you hear the fan starting up on the laptop, Windows stops responding and you can't even terminate OWB using Task Manager, you know you're in need of a reboot. Luckily I was able to carry on with the XML Publisher presentation, and I'll come back to the Data Profiler at the start of tomorrow's session.

Copenhagen itself looks pretty smart and modern, it's a shame I've not got any time to look around and take in the sights. One thing I did manage to do though was pop over to Mogen's house and go out for a bite to eat with Mogens, his family and James Morle who was over in Copenhagen doing some work. I can now officially say I've had a beer at the Oak Table, seen the Miracle Headquarters and walked through mud to see the Miracle farm (or at least the budgies). A bit better than another night in the hotel watching CNN. Thanks, Mogens and his family, for the hospitality, and nice to meet you, James.
