As I mentioned before, Rittman Mead Consulting really does consulting, it's in the company name!!

Although a lot of the posts on the company blog are based on our presentations, our work is not all speaking at conferences and delivering training. My colleagues and I are often working with customers on project work. Often we can't write about these projects for commercial reasons, but they are an important part of the services we provide.

Apart from longer implementation and design assignments we also work on short, maybe just a few days, assignments where we come in to evaluate and advise on specific aspects of existing systems or development projects; sometimes we stray from the world of BI and DW to advise on related technologies such as data replication and data quality. Recently, for example I helped a company with a data replication problem where their requirements didn't fit the out-of-the-book scenarios for advanced replication. These short term projects can be very cost effective - we can deliver real value, quickly.
