Oracle 11g Data Warehousing Seminar - Denmark

I'm running a (currently) one-off Oracle 11g data warehousing seminar for Oracle University on the 17th and 18th September in Copenhagen, in a similar format to the Oracle BI seminars I ran over the last couple of years. It's aimed at DBAs and data warehouse developers who want a better understanding of the core database data warehousing features, and like my BI seminars it's got a particular focus on new features released over the last year or so.

Anyway, here's the agenda for the two days:

Day 1:

  • Oracle 11g Data Warehouse Design
  • ETL and Data Loading
  • Indexing - Bitmap Indexes, Bitmap Join
  • Indexes, Indexing for Star Transformations
  • Index Tuning using the SQL Access Advisor

Day 2:

  • Partitioning, Compression & Parallel Execution
  • SQL for Analysis, Data Mining
  • Summarization & Oracle OLAP
  • Data Warehouse Optimization & Tuning

The event is in seminar format, and there'll be lots of demos where I show features such as bitmap and bitmap join indexes, star transformations, partition exchange, the new access advisors in 11g, cube-organized materialized views, interval partitioning and so on. I'll also be talking about the relationship between traditional Oracle data warehousing, the new BI Server, the packaged data warehouse that comes with the Oracle BI Application and how you can build a data warehouse architecture that makes full use of what's available now in the 11g timeframe.

If you're interested in attending, here's the registration link. If you'd like Oracle to run the event in your local country, give the local Oracle University office a call or let me know and I'll see what I can do.
