Looking for Oracle BI Applications Training For Your Team?

A new course we've recently developed is one around the Oracle BI Applications 7.9.5. Covering the initial setup, data load and mapping customizations and using an Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10 data set, we initially developed this course for a couple of customers who wanted to get their development team up to speed with the key BI Applications concepts in a short amount of time.

The course itself covers the following areas, and runs over three days:

  • Installation and configuration of Oracle BI Applications 7.9.5 and Informatica PowerCenter 8.1.1
  • Introduction the DAC, and performing the initial data load using EBS 11.5.10 data
  • A review of the Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse and the BI Applications semantic model
  • An introduction to Informatica PowerCenter 8.1.1 with comparisons to Oracle Warehouse Builder
  • Creation of Category 1 customizations to add new attributes and measures to an existing data load
  • Creation of Category 2 customizations to add new facts and dimensions with corresponding new data loads
  • Bring customizations and new data objects into the DAC repository, and running the customized data load

Like all of our courses, we typically run them in-house for customers with up to six or so delegates attending. The course is very hands-on and will led by one of our in-house consultants (typically myself), and runs in a "workshop" fashion where we all have our own laptops and work on delivering the first iteration of a BI Applications system. We provide Powerpoint slides and full worked labs and can usually focus on particular areas or customize the course if you've got a specific requirement.

So far, the customers we've delivered the course for are typically starting out with the BI Applications, maybe using a larger systems integrator to deliver the bulk of the work, but want to get their own development team up to speed with the key concepts. Running the course internally for a single customer also provides cost advantages to you (the cost typically works out the same as sending a couple of your people on a public course, and you only need to pay for travel for us, not all of your team) and you can also tailor the schedule to give you time for meetings, to attend to emergencies and so on.

If you're interested in us running the course for you, just drop me a line and we can tell you more about it.
