Rittman Mead Win the UKOUG BI Partner of the Year Award, 2008

I'm pleased to announce that, at the UKOUG Partner of the Year Awards last week in London, Rittman Mead Consulting won the Business Intelligence Partner of the Year category. Thank you, all the UKOUG members that voted for us, and for our customers and partners that have worked with us since Jon and I founded the company back in 2007. Here's Borkur on the left, and Jon on the right, picking up the award.

Unfortunately I couldn't be there, but it sounds like it was an excellent evening and we were certainly honoured to be the the inaugural winners of this award. It's certainly been an exciting initial two years for the company; Jon and I were joined by Borkur Steingrimsson and Peter Scott towards the end of 2007, and we've recently been joined by Jennifer Albu who's bringing expertise in the Informatica, OWB, MDM and Business Objects arena. We've worked on a number of exciting projects in the UK, Europe and the Middle East, presented at events such as the UKOUG Conference, Oracle Open World, Collaborate and ODTUG Kaleidosope, and next week we're running our first expert-level public training event in Canary Wharf, London (a couple of spaces are still available, if you're interested).

Most important of all though, we've tried to bring a unique approach to our customer work, focusing on expert-level knowledge of the products, only employing the best people, delivering real value and "going that extra mile" to ensure the projects we work on are a success for the customer. With the economic news that we've all been hearing over the past few weeks, my guess is that customers next year will be even more focused on getting the most out of their existing investments in Oracle BI&DW technology, and with our hands-on, in-depth technical and project delivery knowledge I hope we'll be well placed to help customers achieve this.

Anyway, that's enough of the stuff about us; thanks again to everyone that voted for us, it's a great honour and all of us at Rittman Mead appreciate your support. Next year's plan is to finally get the OBIEE book written so it'll certainly be a busy year.
