The Day Before the BI Forum
Well, it's the night before the start of the BI Forum in Brighton, tomorrow the delegates start arriving and we begin with a drinks reception at 6pm. All the presentations are in, the speakers are ready for their sessions and the people who have got a long way to come are already en-route. It's going to be an interesting few days.
The event itself has been organized over the past five months, I originally raised the idea of an "advanced-level Oracle BI developers' conference" back in December 2008 and after a call for papers and an online vote, we now have thirteen expert-level speakers from around the world and in total, fifty delegates attending. I'm particularly please that people like Edward Roske, probably the world's No.1 Essbase expert, is coming over all the way from the USA, whilst Venkat, famous for his blog on OBIEE and Essbase, is coming over all the way from India. Looking at the attendee list, it's pretty much a who's who of the Oracle BI EE, Essbase and ODI world, and I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone and spending three days drinking beer, discussing Oracle BI and EPM and showing them around Brighton.
We'll be posting updates on the blog over the three days, together with updates on Twitter. I'll also be posting the presentations on a page on the website after the event finishes, so that everyone can get access to the content. Thanks again for everyone who's agreed to take part, and I'll post an update tomorrow after the end of the first day.
