UKOUG Partner of the Year Awards, and News on Seminars
And now for a short break from the technical articles, for some news on Rittman Mead.
The UK Oracle User Group recently had their Partner of the Year Awards at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel in London, and I'm pleased to announce that Rittman Mead won the Business Intelligence Partner of the Year category. This is actually the second time we've won the award in three years, and we'd like to say thanks to everyone that voted for us.
Awards such as this are particularly important to us as they are voted for by customers, based on case studies we put forward on customer implementations. Thanks again, and if you're not one of our customers but are wondering what we can do for you, just drop me a line and I'd be pleased to let you know what we can do for you.
If you've been thinking about registering for our Training Days events running in London, Atlanta and Bangalore, unfortunately we're now full and putting people on a wait list. Due to the demand we're seeing and the size of the waitlist even now, we're planning on running the events again early in 2011, probably in early February. We sold out pretty quickly on the events coming up, so if you'd like to register early for the February events, send us an email to trainingdays2010@rittmanmead.com and we'll reserve you a place before we make the big announcement.
In the meantime, I'm also running a series of BI Masterclasses for Oracle University, at various locations in Europe and Asia Pacific, over the next few months. These differ from the Training Days event in that they are two days rather than three, are seminar style and cover the full range of BI&DW technologies from Oracle, not just OBIEE. As such, they are a great high-level technical briefing on the new BI product range from Oracle (with observations from me, and tips and tricks from our 12 month as beta testers), and cover OBIEE 11g, Essbase 11.1.2, ODI11g and OWB 11gR2. The current dates and venues for these events are as follows, and registration is done through the local Oracle University offices:
- Oracle Business Intelligence 11g Masterclass with Mark Rittman, Oracle University, Utrecht Netherlands November 10th-11th 2011
- Oracle Business Intelligence 11g Masterclass with Mark Rittman, Oracle University, Bratislava, Slovakia, 25th-26th November 2010
- Enterprise Business Intelligence 11g Seminar with Mark Rittman, Oracle University, Melbourne, 6 - 7 December 2010 and Sydney, 9 - 10 December 2010
- Enterprise Business Intelligence 11g Seminar with Mark Rittman, Oracle University, Singapore , 13-14 December 2010
- Enterprise Business Intelligence 11g Seminar with Mark Rittman, Oracle University, Geneva, Switzerland, 24-25 January 2011
- Enterprise Business Intelligence 11g Seminar with Mark Rittman, Oracle University, Zurich, Switzerland, 27-28 January 2011
- Oracle Business Intelligence 11g Masterclass with Mark Rittman, Oracle University, Oslo Norway February 14th-15th 2011
With all of the Oracle University events, if you're thinking of attending it's best to book up early as places are limited, and most events we've organized recently have sold out many weeks in advance. I'm particularly looking forward to going to going to to Singapore where I've never presented before, and to Australia where I met a lot of smart BI people that I don't often get to see given the distance between Oz and the UK. If you're interested, each of the links has joining instructions and you can book through OU.
Finally, I was pleased to be invited out to Copenhagen last week to present on OBIEE to the Danish Oracle User Group. It was only a short 45 minute session in which I tried to highlight some of the key features in the new release, and if you were there and would like a copy of the slides, I've uploaded them here. The next time we'll be speaking is at the UKOUG Business Intelligence & Reporting Tools SIG in London on the 13th of October, where I'll be presenting two sessions on OBIEE 11g; one on Essbase Integration (standing in for Venkat, who unfortunately can't make it now) and one on Systems Management and Deployment. If you're coming along, we'll see you then.
