ODTUG "OBIEE 11g RPD Modeling New Features" Slides
I had an early start this morning, giving a webcast for ODTUG for the AsiaPac region on OBIEE 11g RPD Modeling Best Practices and New Features. In the session, we covered the basics of OBIEE repository modeling, some general good practices, how data federation works and then went on to new features such as lookup tables and functions, complex hierarchy support, and logical table source priority ordering. ODTUG should make the webcast available as a recording soon, and in the meantime you can access the slides from our website here.
If this is a topic that interests you, you might be interested in some upcoming events I'm involved in. First of all, we're running hands-on OBIEE 11g training sessions (focusing on 11g new features) in four locations in February and March 2011:
- Atlanta, GA, February 22nd - 24th 2011
- Johannesburg, South Africa, March 1st - 3rd 2011
- Brussels, March 7th-9th 2011
- Bangalore, March 22nd-24th 2011
Details on how to book for these four events are on the Training Days Winter 2011 web page.
I'm also doing some seminars for Oracle University around the same time, and here's the current list:
- Zurich, Switzerland, 27th-29th January 2011
- Oslo, Norway, February 14th - 15th 2011
- Munich, Germany, February 17 - 18th 2011
Click on the individual links to book, which is handled through Oracle University in each country.
If you're thinking of coming to any of the events, book now (booking details are in the links) as for the OU ones in particular they only run them if a minimum number of attendees sign up, which is decided about two weeks before the event (so don't leave booking to the last minute). And keep an eye on this blog next week for news of the BI Forum event we organize, which'll be running in the UK and the USA later in the year.
