New Oracle Magazine Article on OBIEE11g Map Integration

The May/June 2011 issue of Oracle Magazine is now out, and in this edition's Business Intelligence column I take a look at the new mapping and spatial capabilities in Oracle Business Intelligence 11g.

"Putting Business Intelligence on the Map" takes a look at how you perform the initial MapViewer/Presentation Server integration, and then how you go on to create visualizations that overlay business intelligence data onto NAVTEQ maps. LIke all of my Oracle Magazine articles, some sample data is provided along with, in this case, a link to some NAVTEQ map data that you can use to recreate the examples.

Whilst you're looking at this month's edition, you might also want to take a look at a great article by Arup Nanda on Exadata Storage Indexes (something you'll need to get to know if you're starting to work with Exadata), as well as an article by Frank Nimphius on ADF contextual events, a Fusion Middleware technology that coincidentally provides the application hooks that you'll need to use if you want to integrate OBIEE 11g into ADF applications via the Action Framework. The full edition is available here if you want to take a look.
